Proprietary Phenology Date Irrigation

Phenology Date Irrigation (I[DATE]) and PhenoFIT (P[DATE]) were offered commercially in 2021; when growers of luxury-priced grapes delivered the amounts of water correlated with P[DATE] bud-break, flowering, version, and harvest dates. The I [DATE]) amount of water was adjusted using several PhenoFIT dividing methods. The I [DATE] water improved the P[DATE] harvest of three grape varieties from Santa Barbara to Napa and Sonoma, California. The I[DATE] irrigation was varied to improve P[DATE] for Vitis vinifera L. cv. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in three ranches in Napa and Sonoma. The growers all improved the P[HARVEST] date over the historical mean harvest date without sacrificing grape quality or yield. Unsurprisingly, growers reported no significant increase in grape yield; paradoxically the growers had used deficit irrigation, due to a lack of water availability during prior drought years. Past water deficits appear to have reduced current yields. In summary, I[DATE] models hold the keys to sustaining and scaling wines in the current climate changes. In 2021 I[DATE] irrigation model is part of a strategy to improve harvest date to:

Reduce Water Budget.
Reduce Smoke Taint.
Reduce Tannin.
